Role Overview

The UN Women Operations Analyst provides essential operational, financial, and administrative support to the Research and Data Section. Two identical positions are available, with each UN Women Operations Analyst supporting either the global gender data programme or flagship research and policy work, depending on operational needs.

Reporting to senior programme leadership, the UN Women Operations Analyst works closely with programme managers, technical experts, finance teams, and administrative units. The role ensures smooth programme implementation, accurate financial management, and compliance with organisational policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

As a UN Women Operations Analyst, your responsibilities will span several core operational areas. You will support programme planning by contributing to workplans and budgets, ensuring accurate data entry in internal systems, and tracking implementation progress. The UN Women Operations Analyst supports partner agreement processing, reporting follow-ups, and the maintenance of internal programme tracking tools.

Financial management is a central function of the UN Women Operations Analyst role. You will assist with budget preparation, expenditure tracking, financial reporting, and cash allocation exercises. You will also support transaction reviews, partner payments, and financial compliance checks to meet audit requirements.

The UN Women Operations Analyst also provides administrative and operational support, including procurement coordination, consultant contract management, staff onboarding support, travel arrangements, and logistical planning for meetings and events.

In addition, the UN Women Operations Analyst contributes to knowledge management by supporting internal guidance, audit readiness, documentation management, and operational learning across the section.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should hold a Master’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with additional relevant experience may be accepted. At least one year of experience in programme support, operations, finance, or project management is required for a UN Women Operations Analyst role.

Candidates must have experience using modern ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud, and be proficient in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel. Experience supporting events, administrative processes, and programme teams is essential. Prior experience within the UN system is an advantage.

Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is considered an asset.
