Duties and Responsibilities

The UN Information Management Intern will contribute to a range of technical and analytical tasks designed to enhance the UN’s strategic planning capabilities. Key responsibilities include:

• Data Analysis & Visualization: The UN Information Management Intern will assist in collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data sets related to global policy and regional coordination. You will help create dashboards and visual reports that make complex data accessible to senior leadership.
• Innovation & Analytics: Supporting the development of innovative tools and methodologies for information management. The UN Information Management Intern will explore new ways to use analytics to track program performance and strategic outcomes.
• Strategic Planning Support: Assisting in the research and drafting of policy briefs and strategic documents. As a UN Information Management Intern, you will contribute to the background research necessary for high-level meetings and inter-agency coordination.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful as a UN Information Management Intern, applicants must meet the following UN Secretariat requirements:

• Education: Candidates must be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or higher); or be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (Bachelor’s level or equivalent); or have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
• Field of Study: Preferred fields include Information Management, Data Science, International Relations, Public Administration, Statistics, or a related field.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools (such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau) and a strong interest in digital innovation are essential for the UN Information Management Intern role.
• Communication: Excellent written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is a significant asset.
