Role Overview

The IRC Health Coordinator is the senior-most technical position for the Health sector within the South Sudan country program. Reporting directly to the Deputy Director of Programs, the IRC Health Coordinator provides strategic leadership and technical oversight for a diverse portfolio that includes primary healthcare, reproductive health, nutrition, and emergency response. In a country facing protracted conflict and climate-related disasters, the IRC Health Coordinator ensures that our programs remain agile, effective, and aligned with both global standards and the specific health policies of South Sudan.


Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership and Technical Oversight

The IRC Health Coordinator is responsible for the overall vision and strategic direction of the health sector. You will lead the development of country-level health strategies, ensuring they are integrated with other sectors like Protection and WASH. As the IRC Health Coordinator, you will ensure that all projects are designed using the best available evidence and that they adhere to the International Rescue Committee (IRC) global technical standards.
