Areas of Work
Interns participating in the OECD Internship Programme are placed within various Directorates depending on their skills and interests. You may find yourself carrying out research and providing support to Policy Analysts in sectors such as:
- Social & Economic Policy: Agriculture, Digitalisation, Education, Employment, Health, and Finance.
- Global Governance: Anti-corruption, Tax, Trade, and Public Governance.
- Innovation & Environment: Artificial Intelligence, Science and Technology, Environment, and Climate Change.
- Corporate Functions: For those with backgrounds in Communications, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal Services, or Finance and Budgeting.

Key Responsibilities
As a participant in the OECD Internship Programme, your daily work will be both challenging and rewarding. Typical tasks entrusted to our interns include:
- Research and Analysis: Carrying out deep-dive reviews of existing materials and participating in the preparation of studies and documents that shape international standards.
- Data Management: Collecting, organizing, and analyzing data to support evidence-based policy recommendations.
- Drafting and Reporting: Contributing to the production of working papers, technical annexes, and official publications resulting from your research activities.
- Liaison and Networking: Building professional networks with officials from national administrations, other international organizations, and member country Delegations.
- Event Support: Participating in the organization of high-level meetings, seminars, and international forums.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be eligible for the OECD Internship Programme, you must meet the following criteria:
- Academic Enrollment: You must be a full-time student enrolled in a degree programme (Bachelorโs, Masterโs, or PhD) for the entire duration of the internship. Your field of study must be relevant to the work of the organization.
- Professional Background: While not mandatory, international experience gained through previous studies or internships is highly valued.
- Technical Skills: Solid quantitative and computer skills are essential. You should be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and capable of handling data with precision.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in one of the two official languages (English or French) is required. A commitment to reaching a good working level in the second language is strongly encouraged.
- Core Competencies: We look for individuals with strong analytical skills, the ability to work independently under general instructions, and the capacity to adapt to changing technologies in a team-oriented environment.

Because the selection process can take up to three months, we advise applying well in advance of your desired start date.
