Key Responsibilities

The UN transport assistant will perform a broad range of transport and fleet-related duties, including but not limited to the following:

Fleet Management Support

  • Maintain accurate records of transport assets, including vehicles and related equipment.
  • Assist with the organization and verification of physical inventories of transport assets.
  • Support vehicle replacement, disposal, and write-off processes in line with established procedures.
  • Contribute to fleet utilization and performance reports.
  • Support vehicle inspection and safety compliance activities.

Transport Dispatch and Operations

  • Identify and respond to routine transport requirements within the mission area.
  • Support route planning and transport scheduling for staff and cargo movements.
  • Prepare and manage driver rosters and vehicle allocation schedules.
  • Ensure that vehicles are properly maintained and operational.
  • Monitor vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and mileage records.

Administrative and Coordination Functions

  • Prepare transport-related documentation and operational reports.
  • Maintain accurate databases and filing systems related to fleet operations.
  • Assist with drafting standard operating procedures for transport activities.
  • Coordinate with procurement staff regarding vehicle parts, services, and external providers.

Driving and Permit Management

Required Qualifications
