About the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar

The Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar was established by the Human Rights Council in 2018 and welcomed by the General Assembly. Its mandate is to collect, consolidate, preserve, and analyze evidence of the most serious international crimes and violations of international law committed in Myanmar.

Position Overview

The selected candidate will serve as United Nations Administrative Officer and will head the Administration Section in Geneva. This senior professional role reports directly to the Deputy Head of the Mechanism and is responsible for ensuring effective implementation of United Nations administrative rules, financial regulations, and internal control systems.

As United Nations Administrative Officer, you will oversee human resources, budget and finance, procurement, general administration, and institutional governance. The position is central to enabling the Mechanism to fulfil its investigative mandate efficiently, transparently, and in full compliance with United Nations standards.


Key Responsibilities

The United Nations Administrative Officer will undertake the following core duties:

Experience
A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in administration, finance, accounting, or human resources management is required. Essential experience includes:

  • Advising senior managers on resource planning and operational implementation.
  • Coordinating internal control systems, enterprise risk management, and business continuity frameworks.
  • Working within an organization engaged in criminal investigations or criminal proceedings.

Language
