The role of an Ecobank Relationship Manager combines active commercial business development with strict portfolio credit risk monitoring.

1. Sales Execution and Wallet Share Growth

  • Financial Target Delivery: Meeting and exceeding set institutional targets for low-cost deposits, risk assets, structured transactions, and overall net banking revenues.
  • Asset & Liability Mobilization: Executing tactical customer engagement strategies to drive consistent growth in the bank’s loan portfolios (assets) and core deposits (liabilities).
  • Cross-Sell Optimization: Analyzing existing client operating models to systematically improve the customer product cross-sell ratio through trade finance, cash management, and digital banking deployments.

2. Portfolio Management and Risk Control

  • Credit Compliance: Maintaining total alignment with Corporate Banking Credit Policies and Procedures, ensuring clean maintenance of physical and digital credit files.
  • Risk Threshold Compliance: Enforcing underwriting and monitoring rigor to ensure the assigned portfolioโ€™s Non-Performing Loans (NPL) do not exceed a strict 3% ceiling.
  • Loss Mitigation: Managing operational risks during client on-boarding and daily transaction clearing to keep overall operational losses below a maximum threshold of 0.3%.
  • Financial Tracking: Maintaining accurate, real-time portfolio performance metrics, including comprehensive sales trackers, provisions, and income pipelines.

3. Regulatory Compliance and Client Care

  • Controls & KYC: Verifying continuous customer compliance with operational standards, Credit Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) statutory protocols.
  • Resolution Ownership: Serving as the principal point of contact for corporate client grievances, leading internal resolution workflows in tandem with credit and financial analysts.
  • Policy Advisory: Actively updating high-net-worth clients on emerging updates across external banking regulations and internal central bank operational policies.
