The UNEP Intern Working under the direct supervision of Programme Management Officers, the selected candidate will play a cross-functional role in executing the logistical, administrative, and strategic workflows required for the organization of the upcoming 1st International Conference.
Key Responsibilities and Learning Portfolio
The UNEP Intern blends high-level diplomatic event management with international fundraising and private-sector engagement strategies.
1. Conference Preparation and Logistics
- Project Tracking: Assisting in the maintenance of master planning timelines, tracking follow-up actions, and organizing preparatory steering meetings.
- Documentation Control: Drafting essential summit documentation, including official briefing notes, participant rosters, background technical materials, and executive stakeholder presentations.
- Meeting Execution: Providing administrative support for both virtual and in-person multilateral sessions, including agenda formulation, technical troubleshooting, and formal minute-taking.
2. Stakeholder Outreach and Communications
- Diplomatic Liaison: The UNEP Intern is responsible for Maintaining regional contact databases and drafting official outreach communications for Member States, UN agencies, NGOs, and civil society partners.
- Creative Design: The UNEP Intern is responsible for Developing a suite of promotional assets, banners, and digital newsletters to update internal and external stakeholders on GFC Secretariat milestones.
3. Resource Mobilization and Private Sector Engagement
- Donor Relations: The UNEP Intern is responsible for Designing capital-raising materials, including comprehensive pitch decks tailored to prospective global donors and philanthropic foundations.
- Corporate Alignment: The UNEP Intern is responsible for Supporting the programme management team in its corporate outreach and private sector engagement frameworks.
