Core Responsibilities and Strategic Management

The Conservancy Manager holds a multi-disciplinary role that covers everything from high-level strategic planning to daily field operations.

Key Duties include:

  • Operations & Facilities: Managing daily conservancy operations and maintaining oversight of infrastructure and assets.
  • Marketing & Business Development: Actively marketing the conservancy and its facilities to ensure financial viability and brand growth.
  • Finance & HR: Strategic budgeting, financial control, and human resource planning, including staff training and performance management.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensuring full adherence to environmental, tourism, and labor regulations while implementing robust security and risk management protocols.
  • Sustainable Practices: Leading the implementation and monitoring of sustainable tourism practices to preserve the ecosystem.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Acting as the primary point of contact for community and stakeholder engagement.

Candidate Specifications

LSU is looking for a mature professional with strong business acumen and the ability to lead a diverse team in a specialized environment.

  • Education: A minimum of a BSc Honours Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management or an equivalent qualification.
  • Preferred Qualification: A Masterโ€™s Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management is considered a distinct added advantage.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of proven experience in a similar management role.
  • Skills: Demonstrated leadership skills, financial acumen, and a deep understanding of environmental regulations.
