PR & Marketing Manager Role
Geo Pomona Waste Management is inviting applications for the position of PR & Marketing Manager. The successful candidate will lead the organisation’s public relations, corporate communications, brand management, and marketing activities while supporting business growth and stakeholder engagement across its waste management operations.
The PR & Marketing Manager will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chairman and will play a central role in protecting the company’s reputation, promoting environmental initiatives, and strengthening relationships with regulators, municipalities, customers, communities, and the media. The position also supports commercial activities by producing communication materials for tenders, proposals, and business development initiatives.
This opportunity is suited to experienced communications professionals with a strong background in public relations, marketing strategy, digital communications, and stakeholder management.
The successful PR & Marketing Manager will be expected to develop integrated communication strategies that align with business objectives while ensuring consistent messaging across all operational divisions. Responsibilities include managing media relations, overseeing digital platforms, coordinating crisis communication, and supporting customer information campaigns related to waste collection services, recycling programmes, and operational updates.

The PR & Marketing Manager will also oversee digital marketing channels, website content, social media platforms, and campaign planning while monitoring performance metrics to improve audience engagement. Additional responsibilities include developing company profiles, preparing presentations, supporting tender submissions, managing external suppliers, supervising communication budgets, and collaborating with operational, legal, finance, SHEQ, HR, and commercial teams.
Community engagement forms an important part of the role. The successful candidate will communicate environmental initiatives, recycling campaigns, sustainability projects, and ESG programmes in language that is accessible to customers and the public. Crisis communication planning and reputation management will also be key responsibilities to ensure effective responses to service disruptions or public concerns.
Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, Media Studies, or a related discipline. A master’s degree or professional qualification in strategic communications, marketing, business management, or public relations will be considered an advantage.
Candidates should have at least five years of relevant experience, preferably within waste management, environmental services, infrastructure, utilities, or another service-oriented sector. Demonstrated success in media relations, stakeholder engagement, campaign management, brand development, and corporate communications is highly desirable.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, presentation abilities, stakeholder management expertise, and knowledge of digital marketing, content development, brand management, and crisis communication are required. Membership in a recognised professional communications or marketing body will be an added advantage.
