Core Responsibilities: Protection and Engagement
The National Gallery Tour Guide role is split between ensuring the safety of the collection and enhancing the guest journey.
1. Space Stewardship & Safety
- Security: Act as the first line of defense by patrolling exhibition spaces and monitoring potential risks to the artworks.
- Maintenance: Maintain the gallery’s aesthetic standards by ensuring exhibition spaces are organized, tidy, and dust-free.
- Emergency Response: Lead emergency protocols, including visitor evacuations, and document any irregularities or incidents with detailed reports.
2. Visitor Engagement & Experience
- Professional Hosting: Welcome guests with a friendly demeanor and assist them in navigating the gallery.
- Guided Tours: Provide insightful information regarding artist biographies, artwork titles, and the general history of the gallery.
- Information Distribution: Share exhibition materials such as brochures and maps to enhance the educational value of the visit.
- Feedback Collection: Gather visitor insights to help the gallery continually improve its services.

Requirements and Candidate Profile
The gallery is looking for a reliable individual who is calm under pressure and possesses a genuine interest in art history.
- Academic Qualifications: Minimum of 5 โOโ Level passes, including English Language.
- Professional Training: A Certificate or Diploma in Customer Care or a recognized Tour Guide Course is preferred.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate clearly with diverse groups, from school children to seasoned art critics.
- Language Skills: Being multilingual is considered a significant added advantage.
- Vigilance: A keen eye for detail to spot small issues before they become risks to the collection.
