The United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) an autonomous, voluntarily funded policy institute within the United Nations framework has launched an international recruitment call for its specialized Graduate Professional internship. Key Responsibilities and Core Tasks
The Graduate Professional internship will be operating under the technical supervision of the ME WMDFZ Programme Lead, the selected candidate will manage a diverse portfolio consisting of qualitative policy research, database management, and administrative diplomacy support:
1. Qualitative Policy & Background Research
- Geopolitical Mapping: Conducting meticulous background research and literature reviews on chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) non-proliferation treaties, arms control frameworks, and historical Middle East regional security architectures.
- Information Synthesis: Collecting data from multilateral databases, state statements, and academic journals to draft clear, concise, and high-quality policy summaries and project briefs.
2. Event Planning & Multilateral Coordination
- Logistics Frameworks: The Graduate Professional internship will be responsible for Assisting in the technical planning, agenda formulation, and administrative rollout of project workshops, diplomatic consultations, expert panel sessions, and international conferences.
- Stakeholder Relations: The Graduate Professional internship will be responsible for Managing professional correspondence loops with project partners, regional delegates, academic networks, and civil society organizations.
3. Administrative & Knowledge Management Support
- Dossier Documentation: The Graduate Professional internship will be responsible for Recording and cataloging detailed meeting minutes, generating post-event summaries, and tracking programmatic milestones.
- Digital Support: The Graduate Professional internship will be responsible for Assisting in maintaining internal team management spaces, formatting knowledge products, and updating administrative databases.
Candidate Specifications & Statutory Eligibility Criteria

Financial Stipend & Logistical Conditions
The UNIDIR Graduate Professional internship Programme operates under specific financial and administrative regulations:
- Stipend Allocations: To offset baseline living expenses, selected candidates receive a monthly stipend depending on their chosen work arrangement:
