The Musasa Field officers vacancies are open across multiple districts in Zimbabwe under two major programmes: the ZIMALI Project and the CHOICE Project. Musasa Project Trust, a leading women’s rights organisation established in 1988, is recruiting Field Officers to strengthen its gender-based violence (GBV) response systems, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) outreach, and community protection services.
These Musasa Field officers positions are critical frontline roles supporting vulnerable populations, including women, girls, adolescents, and persons with disabilities. The Musasa Field officers will operate at district level, working directly with survivors of GBV and communities affected by crisis situations. The roles combine protection work, field coordination, reporting, and community awareness activities.
Under the ZIMALI Project, the Musasa Field officers will support Multi-Hazard Cash, Protection and Crisis Response interventions in Tsholotsho and Binga. Key Responsibilities
The Musasa Field officers will support implementation of GBV and SRHR programmes at community level. This includes direct engagement with survivors, follow-up on cases, and facilitation of individual and group support dialogues.
The role also involves coordinating with partners within GBV referral systems, attending district-level meetings, and ensuring effective communication between community structures and service providers. The Musasa Field officers will also conduct outreach activities aimed at increasing awareness of available protection and SRHR services.
Additional responsibilities include supporting project officers with implementation tasks, contributing to field reporting, and assisting in documentation of programme activities. The role requires consistent community engagement and dissemination of critical information on available support services.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants for the Musasa Field officers positions should hold a Diploma in Counselling, Degree in Social Work, or a related social science qualification. A background in Development Studies is an added advantage. Candidates must have at least one year of relevant experience in a similar field-based role. Strong computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office, is required for reporting and documentation.
The Musasa Field officers should demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work with diverse stakeholders, and the capacity to quickly understand complex social protection issues. Registration with relevant professional boards is required. Fluency in local languages of the respective districts and residency within the assigned district will be considered a strong advantage due to the community-based nature of the work.
