About the ActionAid Grants and Compliance Officer Role

The successful candidate will help ensure compliance with donor regulations, organisational policies, and financial procedures while supporting project budgeting, grant administration, financial reporting, and audit preparation. Key Responsibilities
The ActionAid Grants and Compliance Officer will support the effective management of donor-funded grants by ensuring compliance with donor agreements, financial regulations, and organisational policies. The role includes monitoring grant implementation, reviewing financial documentation, and supporting timely donor reporting.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with programme and finance teams to strengthen project accounting systems, budgeting processes, and financial controls. They will also contribute to audit readiness by ensuring supporting documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with donor requirements.
The ActionAid Grants and Compliance Officer will assist in identifying compliance risks, improving grant management systems, and supporting institutional donor reporting requirements. Strong collaboration with implementing partners will be essential to maintain accountability and strengthen financial management throughout project implementation.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants for the ActionAid Grants and Compliance Officer position should possess a Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Candidates with part-qualified or professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or CPA will have an added advantage. The organisation is seeking candidates with at least three years of experience in NGO finance, grants management, or donor compliance. Previous experience working with institutional donors and donor-funded programmes is essential.
