About the Products Officer Role

The role also involves working closely with community organisations, business associations, and entrepreneurs to grow the bank’s customer base.

Key Responsibilities
The Products Officer will build and maintain a portfolio of quality clients while achieving assigned business development and portfolio growth targets. The successful candidate will conduct loan evaluations in accordance with bank policies, ensure appropriate collateral and guarantees are properly documented, and prepare loan proposals for presentation to credit committees.
Responsibilities also include developing strong relationships with clients, liaising with community organisations and business associations, facilitating the opening of deposit accounts, and supporting customer retention through quality service delivery. The role further involves implementing arrears recovery procedures, monitoring portfolio quality, maintaining acceptable portfolio-at-risk and loan loss targets, and ensuring client records and reports remain accurate and up to date.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field with strong quantitative coursework. Candidates should have excellent computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
At least two years’ experience in banking, sales, or marketing will be an added advantage. Applicants should also demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to achieve sales targets, and excellent relationship management abilities.
