Startup Track
The Startup Track is designed for registered businesses that already have customers and early revenue streams. Eligible companies typically operate between six months and three years and are actively scaling operations within their markets.
Scale-Up Track
The Scale-Up Track is reserved for more advanced companies generating over USD 500,000 in revenue or backed by institutional funding. These businesses must be operating in at least two African countries and demonstrate strong growth potential.
Eligibility Criteria for Women-Led Tech Startups Africa
To qualify for AWIEF Pitch n Grow 2026, applicants must meet specific eligibility requirements. The programme is open to women founders or co-founders aged 18 and above who are citizens, residents, or registered business operators in an African country.
The venture must be technology-driven and actively serving African markets or communities. Mixed-gender founding teams are eligible only if the female co-founder serves as the official presenter and is a registered founder or legal owner of the business.
Applications that do not include a strong technology component or those operating entirely outside Africa without meaningful continental engagement will not be considered.

Finalists receive additional coaching and preparation ahead of the live pitching event.
