Strategic Mandate of the Plant Metallurgist Karoi
The primary objective for the Plant Metallurgist Karoi is the continuous optimization of the vat leach tanks and associated processing circuits. The role demands a deep understanding of solution chemistry and process control.
Core Responsibilities
- Process Optimization: Managing and monitoring vat leach operations to consistently achieve target gold recovery rates.
- Chemical Management: Overseeing reagent dosing, including cyanide handling, pH control, and carbon-in-leach (CIL) monitoring.
- Technical Reporting: Preparing comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly metallurgical reports and reconciliations.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensuring all plant activities comply with ZCSA, MHPSA, and EMA regulations to maintain an environmentally sound operation.
- Troubleshooting: Investigating and resolving process disruptions, equipment malfunctions, and metallurgical losses.
Requirements and Qualifications
To qualify for the Plant Metallurgist Karoi role, applicants must possess strong technical credentials and practical experience in gold processing environments.
- Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, or Chemical Engineering.
