About the Manager Facilities Services Role
The Manager Facilities Services will lead the Facilities Services section by overseeing maintenance programmes, environmental health initiatives, cleaning services, grounds maintenance, pest control, and operational support functions. The position also requires strong leadership, financial management, and strategic planning skills to ensure facilities operate efficiently while meeting organisational objectives.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, external service providers, government agencies, and other stakeholders to maintain high standards of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing facilities operations, monitoring performance trends, and ensuring all facilities remain safe, compliant, and operational. The role includes overseeing cleaning and hygiene services, maintaining gardens and external areas, managing integrated pest control programmes, monitoring asset lifecycles, administering maintenance contracts, implementing risk controls, managing budgets, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Additional responsibilities include developing performance plans for staff, succession planning, talent development, building strong stakeholder relationships, monitoring expenditure, reviewing operational requirements, and ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, municipal by-laws, and organisational policies.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants for the Manager Facilities Services vacancy should possess a Degree, B-Tech, or National Diploma in Environmental Health Management, Waste Management, Facilities Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Built Environment, or a related discipline.
Candidates should have at least two years of management experience together with four to eight years of overall professional experience. Previous experience within the food manufacturing or food retail sector will be an added advantage.
