Child Future Africa (CFA), a non-governmental organization dedicated to community development, grassroots child advocacy, and the empowerment of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) in Zimbabwe, has announced an immediate Work-Related Learning Opportunity. This intake is structured for undergraduate university students pursuing qualifications in social sciences who need to fulfill their mandatory institutional industrial attachment criteria.

The organization provides a highly practical, dual-environment learning ecosystem. Depending on institutional placement, selected Work-Related Learning Opportunity students will rotate between high-level community program design at the Harare Head Office and rural field execution, data collection, and direct community care inside the Mt Darwin district.


Core Responsibilities and Training Portfolio

The Work-Related Learning Opportunity training syllabus at Child Future Africa balances administrative compliance, field-level data tracking, donor relations, and direct psychosocial fieldwork.

1. Project Management and Field Operations

  • Project Monitoring: Assisting field officers in tracking ongoing community interventions, validating field asset distributions, and logging field indicators.
  • Awareness Campaigns: Supporting the execution of community awareness campaigns, public health workshops, child rights seminars, and grassroots stakeholder training sessions.
  • Psychosocial Support: Participating under professional guidance in field counseling, home visits, and immediate psychosocial support frameworks for vulnerable child-headed households.

2. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Proposal Development

  • Proposal Writing: Drafting initial concepts, gathering localized background datasets, and assisting program coordinators in compiling grant proposals and funding reports.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E): Administering basic survey tools, processing community feedback, and populating M&E matrices to demonstrate project accountability to funding partners.
  • Fundraising & Marketing: Supporting institutional fundraising initiatives and drafting social media communication materials to improve digital organizational visibility.

3. Administration and Financial Logbooks

  • Requisition Tracking: Compiling internal resource requisitions, tracking project inventory allocations, and maintaining clean, transparent asset records.
  • Documentation: Managing proper filing systems for beneficiary dossiers, project photos, meeting minutes, and legal institutional correspondence.
