Core Responsibilities: From Field to Plan
The JTL Land Surveyor bridges the gap between raw terrain and engineered infrastructure.
- Measurement & Mapping: Use high-precision instruments, including total stations, GPS, levels, and drones, to map land features, elevations, and cadastral boundaries.
- Technical Analysis: Analyze field data to calculate distances, angles, coordinates, and volumes critical for both road construction and mining excavation tracking.
- Setting Out: Work alongside engineers and site agents to set out precise positions and levels for buildings, pipelines, and road networks.
- Digital Documentation: Prepare detailed survey plans, technical maps, and drawings using specialized software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Equipment Stewardship: Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and routine calibration of sophisticated surveying equipment.
- Reporting: Compile comprehensive technical reports detailing survey methods, findings, and verification of measurements to ensure project consistency.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements
JTL Equipment requires a professional who combines technical academic training with “boots-on-the-ground” construction experience.
- Academic Qualification: A Degree or Diploma in Land Surveying or Surveying Engineering.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS are mandatory.
- Field Experience: At least 3 years of proven experience specifically within the construction or earthmoving industry.
- Licensing: A clean Class 4 Driverโs Licence is essential for moving between project sites.
- Key Attributes: Strong analytical capability, excellent communication for inter-departmental collaboration, and the ability to meet tight project deadlines under pressure.
